The Viakoo agents will need access to specific network resources to operate properly. Each host running a Viakoo agent will need these network privileges. Do not forget that these privileges can be blocked at the host or on a network router or switch.
Viakoo Communications Agent (CA):
- Outbound Internet access to https://reader.viakoo.com
- This also requires access to public DNS records
- Outbound access from any random high port number to destination port 10106 on Viakoo RA servers.
- Inbound connections on port 10101 – this can be limited to localhost console
- Outbound ICMP4v and ICMPv6
- Inbound echo reply ICMPv4 and ICMPv6
- Outbound access from any random high port number to destination port 10146 on Viakoo RA servers.
- Inbound connections on port 10141 – this can be limited to localhost console
Viakoo Reader Agent (RA)
- Inbound connections from the Viakoo CA on port 10106
- Outbound connections on UDP port 161 for SNMP interrogation
- Inbound connections on UDP port 161 for SNMP replies
- Outbound ICMPv4 and ICMPv6
- Inbound ICMPv4 and ICMPv6
- Inbound echo reply ICMPv4 and ICMPv6
- Inbound connections from the Viakoo CA on port 10146
