Windows can download updates automatically in the middle of the night, this saves a lot of time. You choose when to install them.
You never want a server with the up-time requirements of a video recorder to reboot when no one is watching. The possibility of something not going as planned cannot be ignored.
ALWAYS run a Windows and other software update cycle at minimum once per month. You should check and update your VMS software at that time as well.
